Loaves & Fishes Centers Receives Four Star Rating From Charity Navigator

Charity Navigator recently launched a new, two-dimensional rating system (CN 2.0) and revised the ratings for many nonprofit organizations. Based on this new, more stringent system, Loaves & Fishes Centers has maintained its four star rating. Only 25 percent of the charities reviewed by Charity Navigator receive the highest four star rating.

Charity Navigator evaluates nonprofit organizations on two broad areas of financial health, their organizational efficiency and their organizational capacity. They use a set of financial ratios or performance categories to rate each of these two areas, and then issue an overall rating that combines the organization’s performance in both areas. The ratings show givers how efficiently a charity will use their support today, and to what extent the charities are growing their programs and services over time. Ratings are provided so that givers can make intelligent giving decisions, and so that the philanthropic community can more effectively monitor itself.
