Emergency Meals-On-Wheels Driver
 

Loaves & Fishes Centers delivers 3,000 hot meals to homebound seniors throughout the metropolitan area every weekday. We depend on volunteers to make those deliveries.

Due to a recent change in how background checks are handled for volunteer drivers, we can use ONLY those volunteers who have already undergone the background check. If you have a four-wheel drive vehicle and will be available to help deliver meals to homebound seniors during inclement weather, please complete the background check now and be added to our list of approved inclement weather drivers!

 

Meals-On-Wheels Driver

 

Make a senior smile! Deliver hot meals in your neighborhood on any day from Monday through Friday. Pick up meals between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Delivery takes about an hour and a half.

  • Requirements: must be 18 years old, have a valid driver's license, own your own vehicle and have current auto insurance. Because we serve a frail and vulnerable clientele, all volunteers will be subject to a background check.
  • Hours: 10:30 a.m. until noon

Kitchen Support

Help to pack meals in coolers for Meals-On-Wheels drivers. Serve beverages to seniors as they come into the center, set tables, serve lunches, help clean up.

  • Requirements: must be at least 13 years old
  • Hours: Flexible shifts from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
